Hi All,
Looking to change the Parker Hale 19mm dovetails to a Pic/weaver rail so I can mount a 30mm scope with 50mm obj and am asking for a recommendation for a rail or bases for it.
Working from the front end, the four mounting holes are: the centre of the first hole to the second centre is 22mm, from that to the next is 97mm and to the last is 13mm. Not to sure of hole locations of a suitable rail.
I have never bought a rail before but does it come with shims or is it thicker at one end to the other as looking at pic 1 there is a difference of about 5mm in height from the front mount to the back mount.
If it’s not possible with a rail/bases, I read on here that the Sportsmatch HTO75 mount is a work around but as that only fits up to 17mm will it fit the 19mm dovetail?
The pics of the dovetails and steel rule shim gives you an idea of the height difference between the front and back and are the original Parker Hales that the PREVIOUS OWNER (comments, Freeforester et al—you know who you are
) filed grooves into for what I am guessing would have been pic mounts.
Thanks for any advice,
Robbie.
