poor customer service from zeiss im very disappointed indeed

Always found zeiss very helpful. Even with a small pair of binos bought 2nd hand of fleebay with no paperwork they were happy to arrange whatever warranty was due.

I imagine they have their off days too...

Everone is allowed an off day regardless. We ain't robots. I've heard positives and negatives amongst Swarovski,
schmidt, zeiss etc...... We all have off days.

Spoke with Gary Hawkins of Zeiss at Scone this year.
Explained I had a eyepiece scratched on my old 7x42 dialyts.
Sent them down for repair/service and returned within 2 weeks. FOC.
Fantastic service and virtually a brand new pair of binoculars returned.

Cheers Aye

Somebody failed to call you back twice and you now want to sell everything you own, made by that company !

jeez

Take a chill pill. I hate to think what your house would be like if the milkman failed to come round one day. Would all the cornflakes get chucked out ?

Your selling all your kit I'll buy it but it has to be very cheap and I'm only doing it as a favour after all it's only zeiss and their service isn't good so your kit won't be worth very much

Lost a scope cover from my Meopta scope so after an exaustive Internet search proved fruitless in replacing it with an original, I emailed Meopta to ask were in the uk I could get one. They emailed me back a day or two later asking for my address to send on FOC. Very polite email from them and very happy to help. Just a rubber cap I know but still excellent and over and above my original enquiry.

Also had excellent service by Leica servicing a 10 year old set of binos for free. Sorry I did pay postage one way......

I don't have a milkman so that wouldn't happen

Every company has it's flaws, some more than others. I personally have never owned anything other than all Swarovski, simply for the reason of their back up service. There isn't much in the way of the top three, Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski but with regards back up service there is only one.

zeiss have tried hard to gain more popularity through advertising there products in the field more with pro hunters but the reality is the people that buy these products off the shelves want the same service as their pro hunters get, and quite rightly too.

Leica have put Simon Barr out there and a few others to try and help them but the truth is Swarovski have never done anything differently......they've just always put the customer first....and called back of course!

My eye cups on my conquest binos broke. (My fault) emailed them. Then thought I'd call email back before I had ended my phone conversation and new eye cups free of charge first class recorded on the step two days later. I'm very big into service. I count there service as being some of the best I've dealt with

Well, my experience with Zeiss service was fantastic.

David.

Me too, I bought a second hand Zeiss scope that didn't come with covers. A quick email asking how much for replacements and a new pair were sent out that day foc. I guess if I'd asked or expected them to be free then the outcome may have been a bit different.

This was my post covering my experience.

"The focus on my Dialyt 7 x 42s was stiffening up a bit so I shipped them off to Zeiss with a covering note. Sent them off last Tuesday so I guess they got them on Wednesday. Friday I got a call from Gary saying the focus had been sorted and the general health checked over. They came back the beginning of this week, clean and shiny and with silky smooth focus. No charge! Gary told me they were made in 1993 and was generally very helpful. Once again, fantastic service!"

David.

i have been contacted now from a zeiss uk employee who is on this site , so fingers crossed it will get sorted now

I am bound to say that the customer service I have recieved from Zeiss so far has been superb, to the extent where I am now a confirmed Zeiss man.

It's fair to say that sometimes things slip through the cracks, the mark of a good company is that they make good when they are able. :)
