Portable Camera

My Camera of 20 years has died. I am looking for a small ish camera that will take quality pictures and has a reasonable zoom any suggestion would be welcome.

To be honest, there are no bad cameras from the mainstream makes.

An idea of budget and what you want to do with it would help. I don't do much with Instagram, but gives you an idea....

+1 for the Sony RX100......astonishing image quality from such a pocketable camera, and an effective "does it all" mode if you just want to point and shoot...

I have used a Panasonic Lumix for decades. Does all I need.

32 x optical zoom on TS99 ,Leica lense, point and shoot or set all yourself, plus various programming for night landscape portrait etc etc.
Use the wrist strap ,then you won't drop it like I did with its earlier model.
