Whilst cutting the lawn today [well...I call it a lawn. Its really just an aggregation of plants with a common pigmentation and mutual investment in photosynthesis] I spotted this chap making his way to my pond.

A true privilege to see eight wild sambar deer file past silently last night like ghosts in conditions impossible to take a photograph in ,binos only at 50 yards and they had no idea that i was there. Days like this are treasures for the memory.
I geared up late today and spent quite some time trying to avoid being seen by ever watchful hinds whilst a boy followed a hind around through schitt that ****ed up any sort of focusing but I ended up with a few ordinary pics.

Frosty up higher with a wind coming off it had my hands wishing for warmer gloves. The little velvet spikey was out of wind and in a warm spot at 202 yards.
The stag I stopped with a hind call (voice) and of course he had to have schit and twigs in the way as usual.

Saw a hind on the dark side circa 400 then 50 yards upstream a stag, decision was made to 'go for it' and by the time i got to a good spot they had to my dismay moved quite a bit higher. Nonetheless I snapped a heap off. Btw the hind was a spikey in the end.
