Mistletoe infestation,it can and has killed the host eucys previously. I haven't seen a vector Mistletoe Bird for years.
For those that dont know its ID it is the different coloured weeping masses.

Thanks - it wasn't until he got within the last metre or two that he suddenly clocked the yellow lab sitting by my side, otherwise I could have slapped him on the ar5e as he walked past!

I'm always surprised how close deer will get (when you haven't got a rifle), years ago we used to hand feed a couple of Roe that lived in a nearby wood.

A mate and I sat out one evening, a stag appeared and commenced to wallow in the 'bowl' of a flooded wombat burrow.
Mate shot,stag went down and we couldn't see him from our viewpoint. Gathered our gear and arrived at the 'bowl' and the stag we thought was dead had eyes shut and was lifeless. It was actually paralysed and heard us speak and opened its eyes to a couple of humans standing on the lip of the bowl over it..well eff me I have never ever seen as much shock and panic in an animals eyes in my life. It simply couldn't move,only the brain was working,I had a momentary empathy second or two.
