Potential new stalking show

another brilliant bit of filming dont change anything they are perfect, nice to watch nice to listen to,nice commentary ,and most of all beutiful landscapes,

Perhaps plot was the wrong word but just a stronger thread running through it. So, what you plan to do and how you plan to do it. Then what you end up doing and why the plan changed or didn't. Then why what happened was a good/bad outcome and how it will impact your future plan. Then wrap up on a nice feel-good wildlife bit for the tree huggers :)

Hope I didn't sound too negative in my other post, I love the films but this one just never seemed to get going and the whole melancholic feel alienated me a little as shooting a beast- even a simple cull munty is cause for feeling great; proud; exhilarated; satisfied and then yes that little twinge of guilt.

Another nice little clip Charlie.

There is a film director/producer on this forum who has worked with Jeremy Wade on the programme, River Monsters along with various other programmes who is stalking with me again in November and who may be able to give you some help with your mini films.

If you want I can enquire if he can help you in any way.

Thanks, any and all help is appreciated!

I've only just found this - absolutely fantastic, well done indeed. Picking up on Crosshair243's point, I would agree a slightly stronger vein running through it wouldn't hurt, but for me the music was perfect. What a relief from hearing the usual heavy metal garbage from certain others out there. It was beautifully filmed too. Well done.

Hi Border,

Thanks for taking the time to provide constructive feedback, these kind of posts are key to our improvement of the films. I agree with you that the point was laboured somewhat, I will address this in the future. Your second point is also correct, the animal was gralloched and head removed in the field. Because we have a strong following by non stalking folk we are moderately censoring any footage that might unduly upset the younger or more sensitive viewer.

I don't think there should be any censorship. The first programme showed (partially) the gralloch, but the deer was carried with head on. By programme 3 you have decided that you are not going to show the gralloching nor head removal. What is going to happen with butchering? Deer carried to car, then some scenes of sausages in clingfilm?

I've just watched them all up to the Summer muntjac which I thought was particularly good because of the involvement of the daughter, nicely balanced and first rate, how a video should be.

We'll just taken half an hour out, switched off the phones and thoroughly enjoyed that. Cracking wee dog and like you my daughter loves coming out stalking as well. More successful than I on red stags. Last time I was up North spent a few days hearing them, smelling but not seeing them. Did shoot one that had a long bushy tail, pointy ears and sharp teeth - well it was sort of the same colour and has red in its name.

once again thoroughly enjoyed watching this part of your series. its so nice to have a film about deer without being told you must have this or that at a bargain price of a mere 1500 pound etc. well done i feel there is enough information to inform those who dont know or understand our passion on what its all about without an information overload or just clips of bullet impacts and dead deer.

looking forward to the next installment.

and any ideas on whats coming after this series finishes or is the next episode the last

regards pete

Thank you again charlie. Such an antidote to the "buy this" format and with lots of information in a relaxed format. Hope you are able to continue making more episodes.

I think all the people involved in setting up these videos and all the hard work they put in since 2013 deserve the biggest pat on the back :-D
