I need to get a cheap trail camera for what should really only be a "one off" job in our front garden so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on one but then again I don't want to get the cheapest if it's no use and a waste of money.
I have been through e-bay and found that the cheapest from a seller with a 100% positive feedback is this one - PR-100 12MP 1080P Hunting Camera HD Video Wildlife Trap Trail Cam Night Vision | eBay
Does anyone use one of these and are they any use please?

Edit: I'll give a bit more information tomorrow when I have got some daylight to take a few photos and explain the situation.

with possibly one or two exceptions they are pretty generic and come from the same source, I have 4 cheapies and one slightly more expensive model and they all perform about the same. on some the menu is identical to the high end models costing 4-5 times as much. I even have a couple as part of firearms/house security and they work very well.

OK, here is a bit more information with a few photos:
Last night the wife saw a rat running about in our front garden. It came from the corner under the tree in photo #1 which is a known wildlife run where we get hedgehogs coming in through the summer. Photo #2 shows the other side of the same tree in the corner of our garden. Photos #3, 4 and 5 show some holes about 1 metre from the tree in photo #2. These 2 holes are what I believe are rat holes, they both go towards the same direction underground with the rounder one being about 3 inches in diameter and the other is a little larger.
The problem I am facing is that our garden is Housing Association owned but where what I believe are the rat holes are is on Council land. I would be tempted to use a couple of cage traps but I gave all of my rat cage traps and fox cage traps away to a youngster who was getting in to vermin control when I packed up shooting etc a while ago and I don't want to go buying more rat cage traps again.
My line of thinking ios to get a cheap Trail Cam and set it in our front garden to confirm that we have a bit of a rat problem but I don't want to spend too much money on one as it is likely to get used for this one off thing and then get put away and forgotten about, hence the reason I asked about the cheap one that I mentioned in post #1.
I ought to add that I do still have a couple of sub 12 ft/lbs air rifles but it might be frowned on if I got a chance to use them on a rat in my front garden which is within a couple of yards of a public road.
I would welcome your thoughts guys as I hate rats with a real passion.

When I was a kid I used to put an old welly boot by the entrance of the rat hole with a few chunks of dog pushed down the Inside of the boot. You wouldn’t have to wait much more 15mins during twilight before a rat emerges from the hole and heads down the boot. Stand on the entrance to the boot and hit the rat inside with a good bludgeoning weapon i.e. baseball bat / shovel. I’d often get 5/10 in the space of an hour.
I might add this was next to the feed shed on the farm I grew up on.

May save you alerting sco19 with your sub 12ft/lb air rifle.

Save your money and get some rodenticide instead......if you get footage of them on a trail cam you've still got to kill them

For a one-off job like yours this would be a far better and cheaper option than a camera and the risk of twitchy neighbours calling plod.
