Prazipress anyone using ?

The German press yes nice but i feel you just cant beat the case holder on a co-ax! iv never had a case pull out and end up with it wobbling on the end of the die due to an ill fitting shell holder ? just saying

You make a good point. This is why I’ve recently dumped a number of Lee shell holders and spent a small fortune on Sinclair replacements. The machining is spot-on and an even better fit than Redding.

Well, I got it all bolted up to my bench.
First notice = My set of Lee shell holders that have fitted into every press I have ever used before and on this press the #2 fits very tightly but the #5 does not even fit into the Prazi adaptor unit, guess which one I need to use?
I will now have get my mini lathe up to the reloading room to polish down the diameters a smigeon (sh-t).

Another example of German lack of understanding what matters in precision, dare I say?

My friend (RFD) did have half a dozen Präzipress few years ago, they were very nice. But I have experience with e.g. Innomount Tikka T3 QD mount, where recoil lug is such surgical fit that it's a pain to mount the (NV) scope. And it doesn't match the contour of recoil lug cut in the receiver, so it's purely an annoyance to user (not that I suggest, matching the contour would make it OK to have too tight a fit).

I also have a hunch, that there's no standard for shellholder dimensions. If Turban specifies which shell holders are compatible, kudos to them. Contrary to earlier post, I have full set of Lee shell holders and use them with all my dies. Haven't got any problems that are not user related, and when those occur the case is definitely "wobbling on the end of die" then! But I do use proper holders, instead of e.g. mixing 6.5x55 and 9.3x62 brass with .473" (308) size holder that some people do (that is quite the opposite, some cases won't even fit the holder).

I’ve never had a case pull out using the correct case holder from RCBS/Redding/Hornady/Lee et al. - reloading from .22 Hornet up to .577 NE

Iam happy for you mty . I also use the correct ones inc match sets for many but from 17 fireball to .50 . and most pistol cals aswell including case holder that iv had made to fit or tuned and In my case as said I like the co -ax! and your choice is just that ! Happy loading.

Another update : some of the Lee shell holders from my set fitted and some not, I measured the narrow groove diameter of the set and found a difference of 3 thou, the smaller ones fitted the larger did not. I took a closer look at the adaptor and there is a strong C spring retaining two ball bearings one on each side which move out to allow this undercut groove to pass by. Hm, so I tried fitting the non fitting shell holder by using a small copper hammer to lightly tap it and then it went in and after passing through these two balls it sat just perfikt but was needing a pair of pliers to rotate it to align the case head opening to the left (right handed) , so strong is the retention pressure from this spring.

Another point I have noticed was the internal thread in the adaptor for the 7/8x14 standard die thread seems to be a finish ground thread as the dies of all make spin much smoother in that than in the hex adaptor on my other two presses Rockchucker & a Lyman cast iron.
I sent a mail to them ref me needing a third countersunk bolt as it came with only two from the last owner. He replied "there is one in the post" it arrived today what a champion.

The Prazipress is an impressive machine. Coupled with a good set of dies it removes several weak links in the reloading chain. And it makes you feel good when you take the cover off.

Makes my RCBS ammomaster feel like a piece of junk, the Prazipress has no discernable play in any of the linkages. As such the Ammomaster has now been relegated to primer seating only.

Was in the same boat.

Went coax as it was way cheaper at the time and never looked back. They are superb.

Advice would be get whats in your budget/offers the best bang for your buck. Be disappointed by neither
