Primers and powder

Viva La Brexit :british:
No, just in Germany, you can just drive over the border to a different EU country Luxembourg/Czech republic and their laws are different, Lux gives you powder/primers over the counter they only want to see the Euro bills in their hand, just like many daft UK laws all EU countries either do or do not have them.
BTW, I see the pound sterling is now rising against the Euro, that must mean that Boris"s days look to be numbered.

Fine as long as you live near the border

Fine as long as you live near the border
Or passing through.
It would still be illegal to enter Germany with powder that was not entered onto your Erlaubnisschein (like an FAC but is just needed to buy powders) which a non German retailer cannot do, catch-22.

Don't see what my reply about different powder laws in different countries has to do with your Brexit fetish, that's all over and done with for over a year, get real.
Well you're the one who quoted my post from 18 months ago so........

You really are a touchy so and so aren't you!!

Expect to be asked what justification you have for acquiring pistol primers. If you don’t have a pistol on your ticket or 22 hornet (small pistol primer compatible) or some such, it’s unlikely a RFD will sell them to you.

violent crime reduction bill introduced the check by RFD that you have FAC conditioned to buy primers.

There is no requirement to check the calibre or primer type listed on the FAC
Anymore than there is to check is the person buying 20 bore shotgun cartridges has a 20 bore...
I you own a 338 and want to buy Red Dot who am I to say that you aren't messing around with Subsonics or buying small rifle primers to reload for a friend

Sight of valid FAC for the acquisition of Nitrocellulose "Shooters" powders or Centrefire Primers
Sight of Acquire and Keep document or Explosive License to acquire Black Powder

just because you can and have bought them in the past doesn't mean it is either legal to do so or that something has changed.
Being on "a system" with an RFD doesnt cover you or them either.
Anymore than it would do if you wanted to collect your own shotgun from storage without the actual valid SGC in hand

Assume I only have a SGC and would like to buy large pistol primers, can i or not ?

How do i reload CBC brass shotgun cartridges for my shotgun then ?

They use a large pistol primer so it would be assumed a SGC justifies the purchase even without a pistol calibre on an FAC
You don‘t had a friend write to the home office about just that when the VCR bill became law their reply was tuff luck they like the police are not in the business of saving you money by reloading.

however the law (like many is crap) is for sales between rfd to purchaser, not between private individuals after purchase so get a friend with an FAC to buy them for you.

the VCR bill states

“he holds a certificate authorising him to possess ammunition of a relevant kind;”

so does that not read that the rfd must check the type of primer is relevant to the type of ammunition on the FAC?
otherwise would it just not state possess ammunition;”

Hmmm. In this far-flung corner of the UK/EU (look it up!) the NI process for both powder and primers requires completion of a proforma justifying the reason to acquire i.e reloading which then results in the issue of a permission to acquire notice which enables purchase of said p&p. You get issued one form for the dealer and a copy for your own records (to keep if asked at renewal of FAC). Recently this has been possible on t’internet but you still must present the hard copy document to the dealer at time of purchase. It takes only 3-4 days to process now and is no great imposition - providing you only want a couple of kilos! Coming to a town near you………

Ha
you are applying logic to the legal-ese used in the Firearms Act and VCR

WTF does "Relevant kind" mean?
Calibre?
Cartridge?
Primer pocket size?

How do you dictate if the cartridge is both small and large rifle in standard form?
How do I know they are not necking down palma small rifle 308 cases to run hot 260 rem or 243?

As far as i am concerned if the FAC has Rimfire only I will question why he is buying primers
If they have a centrefire there are a million and one reasons why they may be buying small rifle primers for their 308 authority

and the powder restriction is impossible to dictate what "Relevant" means
