PRIMERS SHORTAGE

I assume that there is still a shortage of primers, ive had a bit of good fortune the last day or two, I managed to get 1000 Fed GMM LRP's yesterday which I shall be keeping but today I was offered 1000 CCI Large primers which if the offer is for real will share out amongst SD members who are struggling to find any for themselves, I dont know what I will have to pay but I wont add much as I have my own supply and can Imagine what it would be like if I didnt have any

I've been trying to get Federal 210's and CCI LRP for yonks. Had to put up with magtech which I'm not keen on as tend to get more misfires. Does this mean the Federal/CCI are finally starting to come back to the UK?

Gave up on Magtech. Six didn’t fire ( properly seated ) in 65 shot & a few holes/blew back mid load.
Gone on to try RWS this week

I’ve used 600 x Magtech 7 1/2 primers in the last few months and have yet to experience a FTF.

SRP I had issues with.
Both my clubs just over 100m apart & members having same issues with SRP which were all from different RFD’s

2x FTF out of 60, all were seated properly (measured seating depth on all rounds), and they were tried multiple times just to make sure!

I had about 8% hang fires with magtech. I won't be buying them again.

Interesting….have you checked your firearm over as sometimes they cause hang fires.

Yes, it fires everything else perfectly. I now use Federal LRP and haven't had a single hang fire or no fire. Murom LRP were my first choice, but they are impossible to get these days.

Bugger, just bought some large and small Magtechs. Have been using RWS with no issues in my .222, .243 and .308.....but no more available locally.

As I said, I’ve fired 600 in last few months without a single primer losing interest in doing its job.

Still have about 500 and anyone who would give me 50 quid at Bisley can have them, as that what they owe me.

Murom were fantastic! Used them in the 300 PRC. See how I get on with RWS tomorrow

I bought some Sellier & Bellot SRM primers (from Norman Clark) a few weeks ago...........I've only tried a dozen or so (hot loads), but they look very promising and by current standards, at a very good price.
