excuse my ignorance but who's dave stretton, thanks for all your comments now i have the jig i may knock a few out next week got to be worth a tenner surely.

Apologies, I should have said. Dave Stretton runs Donington Deer Management (http://www.doningtondeermanagement.co.uk/). If you take a look at his website you'll see he fabricates a lot of deer-related larder equipment from stainless steel - he's the "go to" person for that type of thing.

He actually makes a folding gambrel (http://www.doningtondeermanagement.co.uk/larder-equipment/) - both Finnbear (I think) and I have bought them, and probably one or two others from the site.

Your gambrel was that impressive I was suggesting you were going to be good competition for him!
