I'm thinking about trying my hunting rifles out on some gongs out to about 600m. I have no experience of medium/longer range shooting and tend to stick to my self-imposed limit of 200m off sticks....but fancy having a go off a bench out to that distance.
I run copper homeloads across 3 calibres - .222, 6.5x55 and .308 - and don't want to use these for it. Basically, I'm thinking about putting together some appropriate (lead) homeloads just for this activity.
Anyone have recommendations for projectile choice to do so?
I've got N133, N160 N550 IMR4350 RS52 and RS36.
.222 and .308 are 20 inch barrels - the 6.5x55 is 22.
Welcome any advice or suggestions.
Thank you.
