PSE Hunter Stocks

Hi Folks,

Tor those of you with a hunter stock (ie fixed comb) how do you find the cheek weld? I'd be running a 50mm objective mounted very low (that topic not for discussion... I saw the other thread on that! ;))so its not going to be a towering 56mm ojective scope on extra high mounts.

Appreciate everyones face shape is different but keen to get some general feedback.

For me a standard sako 85 stock, tikka stock etc are just shocking for cheek weld. my Sauer 202 has the XT stock and I run the comb raiser about 10mm high on that, which brings it up exactly level with the bottom of the bolt

thanks

If you mean the 'Multi Purpose' stock for a T3, @ejg specifically designed it for 50mm and bigger objectives.

The generous comb which is inclined downwards helps in two ways, you can adjust your head position a little if shooting an awkward angle without compromising eye relief (and black eye) and when the rifle recoils you cheek does not slam back into the stock.

I think it is the perfect stock for a hunting rifle. Big shame it is not available for the Rem700 platform.

I have two actually, one on a T3x and another on a T1x.

thanks Malc, I am long overdue dropping past for a yap on my way through to Aboyne in anycase!

this is what I am looking at;

states its available for rem700 and clones on the webpage... ?

thanks
Mike

The comb line on the T3 multipurpose stock is the same as the comb line on the Rem 700 Hunter stock. The comb on the Hunter is somewhat narrower.
Highest point on the comb is about on the barrel bore centre line.
