Anyone got one? Any footage from one? Thinking of ordering one but not sure if its waste or go for xm30s.

I have the lrf version so no footage as it cannot record
But initial impressions are it’s very very good. IV had a helion xq38f and an axion xm30 and this axion xq38 lrf is clearer and much easier to handle
Than the Helion and a massive upgrade to the xm30

Yeap, I have one but only had a week and still figuring it out. Looked at the 30s but didn't like the 4.5x base magnification and narrower field of view.

The 38 is a little larger and heavier but still a neat size.

Out tomorrow morning for the first stalk with it and will try to take some video if I get a chance,

If its the helion xq38f your on about Ive seen both side by side, the xm30s will see everything the xq38f does but the only differnce will be that the xq38f will have a slightly sharper clearer image

Axion XQ38

@pablo.222 video taken this morning. deer are about 150m, 4 deg c and torrential rain.
I was a bit disappointed by the picture quality But then I read the end of your post.
Torrential Rain.... Pretty good quality. Rain and moisture in the air kills a thermal 'picture'.....
Thanks for posting.
It's real life footage people need when trying to make thier minds up to which one to purchase

yes it was real thermal killing weather. I was pretty pleased with the definition in the conditions.

I have had a play in bright conditions and the definition is quiet superb, will try to get some video at some point

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more footage.

Well mine landed the other day and I’m not impressed at all, I can’t get the image as clear as my Key 30!
It’s as if the sensor is positioned wrongly, distance is clean but look at something 70yds away and the image goes dark.

I compared my XM30S with my friend’s new XQ38. The XQ is a bit better, but then is also bigger and heavier.

On balance, either is fine but I don’t feel I’ll gain anything by upgrading.

I’ve got a helion 38 an my foxing pal has the new axion 38 so I’ve had a good look through both,as far as I’m concerned the helion is the better of the two but for the price the axion is plenty good enough for foxing and a fair bit cheaper than my helion

Took some video this morning of a roe buck at about 500m.

Very clear and identifiable at that range, but video quality does do the sight picture justice.

Out on the rabbits last night and what I like about it is you can have the LRF continually scanning and just pop it in standby when walking about, when taken out of standby it opens in the same mode still scanning, very slick and no faffing with buttons.
