pulsar XQ thermal batteries

I got massively let down by rechargeables last night, two sets ran out very quickly and I went home at 11pm (foxing)
Had a few lithiums which last days, but not many left now.

I've used Ansmann 2850mAh's in my HD38S since I bought it 3.5 years ago..... these were/are giving me 6hours runtime during the summer and I bought another 2 sets late last year. I've bought them all from picstop on fleabay and have no complaints there.

The springs on one of my battery holders have got a bit tired so I bought a twin pack of the DNV self-contained rechargeable batteries late last month..... first impressions weren't too good as I was only getting 3.5hours runtime but think this has improved as they've run in a bit. The stated capacity is 2300mAh so they'll never last as long as the Ansmanns.

microglobe are the place to buy.....

I am not sure if they fit but the standard all companies aspire to in rechargeable batteries are "Eneloop" batteries. Its the choice of pro photographers.

You will find not all rechargeable AA batts are the same length, some are 1-2mm longer hence very tight in the holder.
Paul at Scotts country will help you out with the correct AA's but I found its easier to go DNV which last for ages.

Yes, the Panasonic Eneloop Pro 2500mHa really do appear to outperform their stated spec - although it might just be that other manufacturers are overstating their own product's output ;). The other thing about them is that they will retain 85% capacity a year after charging, so handy to have a few sets around and ready to go. They are rated for use down to -20c and fit in the XQ battery holder.

I use either Enloop or Duracell, they will last at least two nights foxing and I keep a spare set with me at all times. You need a good charger/refresher if you are using rechargables.

No issues with the fit in the xq 38.

It comes with 2 battery packs so you can always keep a spare set in the battery pack.

I have used the 'Ansmanns' too (1850's) for the last 18 months in my XD 38 S. They are still giving a good 6 hrs use. I carry a spare set, but rarely have to use them in an outing. I think it helps to have a good charger though, as important as quality batteries I'd say.

'Camodog'.

Fujitsu in mine, the black ones in the 4 pack, got em off Ebay. They last really well on a charge. Best I've tried and not too expensive, around 7-8 quid a pack. I've the DVN pack too, it's crap.
Doesn't fit well and the run time isn't as good as the Fujitsu.
