Have any of you guys had experience with CFMOTO quad bikes ?? I am looking at the MY25CFORCE 520 , their main dealer is in Devizes and fairly close to me . Also complete wild card , 725 Browning . A mate has a cracked stock , looking for a cost effective replacement. Many thanks Neil.

My understanding is that CF Moto is a Chinese brand of motorcycles. Generally the Chinese brands of late are competing with Western and Japanese manufacturers on a large scale and are producing models in most areas to do that. I didn't know that they did quad bikes as well, so can't comment specifically. But generally speaking their bikes are good quality, perhaps not quite as polished as the Jap/European offerings but are significantly cheaper.

If I were you, I'd consider what you want your bike to do and if it's not too arduous, I'd maybe consider one. Whether a new CF Moto would be better than a used one from Honda, Yamaha or whatever at the same price is perhaps a choice you'd have to make.

Thankyou , never realy come across them , somewhat cautious about second hand quads. Cheers Neil 👍

A few farmers near me have gone down the route of CFMOTO quads. However they are farmers meaning, they ride their quads hard, leave them outside in the worst weather, do zero preventative maintenance, take full advantage of the extended warranty for any issues (and CFMOTOs do have many and varied issues) and then just replace them after 2 years. For this style of ownership I can see the appeal as CFMOTOs are cheap. But I look after things, have a 2009 Honda 420 and will probably get a new-ish Honda 520 when this one finally dies.

That makes sence , I am prone to look after my kit , thanks for the input . Cheers Neil

Not wishing to jinx it, but my 2010 TRX420 is still in fine form and I'm staggered with the abuse it gets. I have often thought of getting a more modern upgrade but have talked myself out of the expense as this one does all I need (and more besides) with ease.

I also know a few farmers with them, 2 in paticular are as ruff as anything and could break an anvil !

But as the other poster said will be replaced every 18 month- 3 yrs.
But never heard any complaints or issues.

My very 1st quad was chinese, that could be 25+ yrs ago now.
Things have came a long way
A Jhainshe ?sp, basically a copy of a Yamaha.
It was cheaply put together and it done ok the 1st year.
But i was doing 8000km a year often 50km a day, just too much for it.
Never let me down but getting spares for it were a pain always 1-2week waits, so u had to hire a quad in.
Ended uo buying a honda.
Sold it to a farmer mate and he truely abused it for years with little issues

Must admit ive got a Honda the now, had since new 12 yrs ago. But unfortunately the Electric gear shift model, a terrible invention and had plenty of problems with it.
Definately would advise against buying an ES Honda.
To be honest i might not buy another Honda, not the bines they were

I wouldnt be put of buying a CFmoto or a 2nd hand bike, esp if ur saving the Vat as that is a killer with new bikes.
I am looking at the moment myself.

I've got the 450. Cracking machine. Any issue arising is almost certainly due to neglect or misuse. I really rate mine. The dealership I bought from gave up with Yamaha due to quality and reliability issues with them. That speaks volumes, I think
Good to know , cheers Neil

I'm in a similar position, expecting to change my Honda 420, but never quite needing to. It gets used a lot (off road, deer collection in winter, flailing grass in summer, plus pulling trailers of firewood) but I do look after it, change the fluids and get it serviced. I've had some mysterious stator/battery issues, but a noco trickle charger has smoothed that over.

I think the issue with CFMOTO is lack of data of long term ownership - I'm more aware of farmer owners who use, abuse and replace but who knows if they will last >15 years.

My gut says Honda but I was attracted to the CF price , chew the cud for a while longer . Cheers Neil

I don't have a quad but look at them for sale quite often on Craigslist. On any given day there are at least 50 Polaris for sale and 20-30 of all other brands but no Honda. People don't sell them because they are just that good and run forever. I think that says alot.

So do I thanks Scott, cheers Neil

The problem (in my view) is that even old Honda's are very steep in price. So you're spending money on an old quad near the end of it's life if you buy used. If you buy new the quality just isn't there anymore, but you're paying a premium price anyway.

At less than half the price of an equivalent new Honda, with a 2-year warranty that doesn't demand dealer servicing, AND the level of equipment that comes as standard (winch, full road kit, adjustable suspension, CVT, LED dashboard, etc) it was an absolute no-brainer for me.

So I'm looking at approx £10,000 ? or so . Still my gut is for Honda , but you rate Yamaha. Thanks Neil

I do rate them

I payed £9000 plus VAT

It is a hell of an out lay but I know the brand and rate them as a hard working quad

I don't suppose that they are any better than honda but I'm just familiar with the brand
