Quad bike insurance

Hi. Anyone got any suggestions for low cost quad insurance? The V5 is 'Agricultural' so the tax is free and an MOT is not required - it's roadworthy and has number plates so thats all OK. I now need to travel about 200 - 400 metres on a lane from one part of our shoot to another, no more than once or twice a week, and I've had quotes for around £160, which seems a lot for just third party (no fire & theft as its chained up in a barn and they won't cover that). The £160 even covered European travel! Anyway, just wondered if anyone has found a cheap route? Many thanks, Richard

I use Performance Direct and the first years premium was similar 2019/2020 but it has reduced by £40 on renewal.
When I first insured it I queried the price to be told that it’s the first year when both they and I will know if the security arrangements are adequate!

My first quote came from Lexhams - I went on a site called Quotezone who then farm it out to different insurance companies. Trouble is each company then calls and asks the same 50 odd questions all over again! One company reckons they can get it below £100 and they’re calling back Monday. It’s all a pain just to travel a couple of hundred yards a week tops.

PS Bikesure were about the same but no Fire & Theft.

Same here, I do about 300m between farm gates but I'd rather have the insurance because you never know what can happen. Let's say I am in a collision, the police arrive, because I'm carrying a rifle, armed police arrive. FAC checks in order, it's all going well until the quad insurance is checked then I'm an irresponsible firearms holder, etc etc.

Insurance is only expensive until you need to use it. 👍
