Quad sticks into walking poles

Stumbling up a steep slippery ride with a roe doe in the sack and rifle sling across chest, thinking that the old knees are getting closer to needing a refit. I mused how much more stable and safer I might be with a pair of walking poles rather than relying on the quad sticks as a third leg.

A little thinking and research presented the opportunity for a fettle. Resulted in a set of Bushwear sticks that can now split into two walking poles.

Also considering sleeving with some carbon fibre tube to add strength and rigidity.

Patent Pending 😂😂

Used sticks divided into two poles last night up hill back to vehicle with young Munty doe in the bag.
Really helped to use the arms helping the poor old knees out.

Do they divide into two separate sets , one for each hand ? I dont see that on any of the videos.
No they won’t split. I understand why you want to hiking poles though. When I’m hill walking I use dual trekking poles and it definitely takes pressure off the knees and also helps a lot going uphill.

When stalking though, I’ve found the main issue is that you’re often not walking in trails or paths and I use the sticks to brace coming downhill. The limulus sticks effectively become one solid 30mmx30mm staff and are by far the strongest sticks I’ve come across.

Get your point totally , thats why I might sleeve them with carbon fibre tube.
You're basically making a DIY version of Spartan tripods and quad sticks, still probably a bit cheaper even with your extra sleeving but not as strong or easy to use.

I'd have no worries using the Spartan gear as full on trekking poles and no fear they'd bend or break either.

They are expensive but when you break down what you're getting for your money they start to make a lot of sense.

Can you post a pic of these please?
I'm not familiar with these.

I think I've seen Spartan online but wasn't aware they become 2 sticks.
