Quick Release Bipod

Any recommendations for a lightweight, quick release bipod? Love my Harris, but is quite heavy and tends to throw the balance off my rifle when carrying.

I picked up a qd pic rail section from Midwest Industries and have my bipod permanently attached for quick switching between rifles

I recently switched from Harris to Tier one and regret the decision! I don't noticed the weight difference, the legs are a pig to adjust, their not smooth at all! And unless you have the pod lock they never seem to be in line! The only reason I've not switched back is the ridiculous price I paid for them, and the pan feature which is why I bought them in the first place. Basically it's cost me almost 200 quid more for the pan feature on a bipod that imo performs worst than a harris 😆

Annoying! The Harris really is a tried and tested system isn’t it, which is why I’m wary of opting for a new one.

Got a spartan Javelin also Magpul one has a magnet the other I use a pic rail and a QD mount both are as fast as the other hunting I'd go QD mount less chance of pulling out in the mud or grass.. on that i have a sand colour Magpul with a QD and a short Pic rail to bolt on to stock under the bench that needs a new home ?

I really can't see the appeal of a Harris. From the first one I bought to go on my first PCP air rifle years ago it was just heavy, noisy, loads of pointy corners all over it to dig into your back and not very good for shooting with either.

There are so many better options now in every way, more adjustments, lighter, stronger, allow proper recoil, angled legs, quick detach etc the list goes on and yet some people still rave about them and measure other bipods against them.

I think the tier one is similar weight to Harris. Looks nicer but certainly no better. I can shoot equally of both of them.
The legs don't slide out on a Harris when you fire off stick with it on the rifle. Tier one does. I don't think I would buy another unless it was less than £100. That's only because of look and materials.

Do not get a bipod with Pan. It upsets recoil control.

I don’t care what anyone says Harris do work and works very well.

They are horrible to carry as they are clunky and dig in your back.

But they work.

This group was shot by me just over a week ago at three hundred metres off a Harris 6-9. With picatinny attachment. Prone with rear bag.

Bare in mind I’ve got a frame on my leg and haven’t shot in a very very long time.

I have some Harris bipods set up now with Picatinny QR adaptors. One each of low, medium and high. I still have a couple of Harris bipods that I attach using the traditional stud on the forend. QR also saves a little room in the gun cupboard.

I've tried dozens of different bipods over the last 23 years and I still keep coming back to the Harris bipod.

I still don't see it after using Harris bipods to start with and then trying all sorts in-between and then trying a Harris again.

I get that they can work work well but there are other bipods that you can shoot the same off that are better in other ways and then there are loads of bipods that are so much better to shoot off than a Harris.
