Quick Release mounts

I'm looking to purchase the new Alpex LRF scope when it comes out soon, i inttend to put it on my foxing .223, however am getting drawn towards the idea of also using it on my .22LR (both subsonic and HV) and even perhaps my air rifle, taking advantage of the various profiles that can be stored in the sight. Obviously in order to do so will need to use some for of quick release mount, I've always been a bit anti these, thinking the "zero" will never be quite the same as you take off/put on again. What's peoples thoughts ? do people swap the same scope on various rifles and find no issues with the zero ? what are the better mounts to look out for ? thanks

With a rail and fitting mounts with either same torque or same lever position most QR Picatinny rings will return to zero just fine

The new range of Britannia rings are Tier 1 quality, come in QR form and are very reasonably priced at £105

Done it, successfully, with other scopes using Recknagel picatinny rails and Contessa QD mounts.

Top quality but at a price !

I have a Hik Alpex LRF on order and I will use the above brands to facilitate the usage over 2 rifles.

I have been using both Leupold QRW and Warne Maxima QR rings in Picatinny rails and I cannot fault the system. My scopes have always returned to zero without incident.

Most rails (and mounts) are not in the correct spec. So if you have rails from multiple manufacturers on the rifles, you're better off with torque wrench and mount that uses bolts. And I'm talking about major manufacturers.

I'd also opt for single piece mount instead of separate rings. Remember to mark and/or write down where the mount is located on each rail, and make it a habit to change the zeroing profile immediately when moving the sight.
