Hi all couple of quick questions.

1. What is your go to day scope brand and why?

2 What is you go to nightvision scope and why?

3. What is your go to Thermal scope and why?

Just curiosity

1. Leica, simply because they suit my eyes and budget.

2. Alpex 4k. For the £ they are hard to beat and I like the scope shape.

3. Never had 1 to pass judgement

1 - day scope Zeiss they work for me.

2 - Hicmicro Alpex 4k LRF, an excellent scope for the money, does what I need it to do.

3 - don’t have one.

1. Leica aamplus on stalking scope as above suits my eyes and glass is top level pleasure to look thru like their binos

2. Dnt zulu 5x20 ...lightweight fantastic performance and onboard IR great for normal shooting ranges . Ergonomic and great value £ for £ best value out there

3. Hik Tq50 mk1 ... can be had relatively cheap compared to newer models but the micron & sensor still gives performance akin to something much more expensive plus HIk seem to have good UK back up etc

S/bender on all my rifles -very hardy
Believe it or not nv008 pard
Pulsar thermal thermal reliable
Both nv and spotter could do with upgrade BUT they still do the business

Zeiss HT for day - brilliant at dawn & dusk.

DNT Thermnight C635 multispectral Picture in Picture day/night/thermal LRF. Very impressive unit that simply does everything.

1. Meopta scopes - good value 2nd hand, good quality.

2. Falcon/Sytong - Cheaper, better depth of field and more user friendly than DNT / HIK for me.

3. -

1) Leupold, for their clarity, low light performance, simplicity, appearance (on a traditional rifle) and warranty, all at a reasonable price.

2) n/a

3) n/a

1. I have S&B, Zeiss, Kahles, Swaro - but the one on the most-used field rifles are S&B
2. I still prefer to see where I'm shooting with old-fashioned light. Thermal spotter, but shoot under the lamp.
3. See 2

1. Delta Titanium 2.5 -15 × 58 on deer rifle (good low light without spending a fortune and it has side px, so will run an add on)
2. Old Pard 007 with a Dark Sun. (Pard adapters on all rifles and running Optisan EVE range on those in various configs)
3. Spotting with Hik Condor. I dont want a thermal scope though. I want proper target confirmation with NV before committing to a shot.

Warning -Alpex 4k LRF - don't do the latest firmware update, not only does it reduce reticle size to all but invisible but it also renders the NV defunct!
Just returned mine under warranty!

1 - schmidt and bender. Quality optic, reliable tracking, top notch glass and good low light qualities.

2 - alpex 4k. Cheap, effective, on board ballistics calc.

3 - no interest in thermal scopes

I have Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica and Schmidt and Bender Scopes. I think The S&B are at the top, but I mostly use a 1974 built Zeiss 6x42 and it looses nothing to any of the others.

In todays Scopes, I think S&B are definitely at the top alongside Leica. Swaro a touch below and Zeiss lost the plot 10 plus years ago.

Low light - they all work well enough for me. If its dark I use a lamp, but haven’t been out lamping for a good while.

I have no interest in using digital tech on my rifles.

1 - I have a Wulf lightning 4.5-18x on the 17hmr and a Arken Optics EPL 6-24x on the 243 - notes on both the Arken turrets can get knocked and sometimes come lose but doesn't lose zero ( I think it is the zero stop jumps lose) but a capped elevation turret would be nice. the Wulf for the value it is unbelievable quality works perfectly with rear addon NV. edit* the Arken is good but base mag can be problematic for certain tasks but I do like a first focal plane and have considered a Element optics so open to peoples opinions on them*

2 - Alpex 4k recent purchase but incredibly happy with it so far -not as nice as real glass for day time shooting but great for the money.

3 - infiray MAH Mate 50 front clip-on - I use this primarily as a spotter but have used it for clip on too. the set up for zero is not as user friendly as the Hikmicro with the freeze feature but once set up it hold zero even taking off and on multiple times. - note - I did buy rusan Mar -fx adapters which I leave permanently on the day scopes so its a better quick release interface

1 ZEISS - suits my eyes and very happy with the quality of the scope

2 Drone Pro 10x - nothing you can buy new even comes close to the image quality of the Drone and it’s just switch on, aim - shoot ( I do have 3 other ‘current’ nv scopes too)

3 currently using a Hik Thunder - light and easy to use with a very decent image
