I have some rabbiting outside of Witney and want some help. It is nothing major, take would be about 12 to 20 rabbits a night when we go out. I'm spending less time on the rabbits so when I go out I want to increase the efficiency to keep the farmer happy.

Rules,
This is my permission, you are a guest. Respect that. The farmer trusts me and I don't want anybody being a dick. Even though dick may get offended.
You must understand firearms safety. And be muzzle aware.
Unless you are 100% sure it is a rabbit, do not shoot. 100% means that you have identified it has whiskers and long ears. There are ground nesting birds and little owls on the land so one way to not get invited back is to shoot one of those.
You must have a HMR, .22 is not suitable. a nightvision would be useful otherwise i can lend you a nightsite so you will need a suitable nv scope.
Bring your own bullets, I'm not supplying you. Costs me a fortune in fuel as it is.
All bunnies must be head and neck shot, they go to the game dealer. So it would help if you can shoot. If you keep missing then I won't be inviting you back or will start charging you a quid a miss. I use the rabbits to help cover my fuel. I miss as well. The point is, don't keep missing. If unsure then we get closer. If I point out a rabbit it is down to you to get close enough so you are sure you can hit it.
Thermal helps so you can also spot otherwise you are wandering around in the dark waiting for me to say, over there, there's one.
Most would be shot about 70 yards. Well it is night time.
I will spot generally and will carry my 243 in case Mr foxy shows his face.
It is mostly walking. Once the land dries off and the crop is down we should be able to drive around. Subject to animals and farmer.

Generally we leave after dark and continue shooting till I get bored, which on occasion is when the dawn comes in. Hence if your local, and you get bored before I do you can go Home. This is why I want someone local. I'm not into collecting people. It is 50 miles for me each way and it takes me an hour min to get home, longer if I have to stop off at the game dealer. Which hopefully I will.
Sometimes you go out and there is sod all out, so we go home, other times there is plenty out so we go play. I find an windy night with a hint of damp in the air best. Oh and often a couple of hours after dark as it seems that the rabbits come out at dusk then often disappear for a couple of hours so a wander off to Bampton for a doner wrap kills the diet.
You are welcome to buy me a doner if you are feeling generous.

I cannot at this stage tell you how often we would be going out. I will be aiming for once a month, twice maybe. It depends on how busy I get in other areas and how good a job we do off reducing the population.

I am trying to ensure that you have an understanding of what to expect and what I expect.
I am happy to take on someone who is new to shooting. I will teach you everything I know, so that is the first 2 minutes taken care of.
If your interested, And local. Drop me a PM.

I'm interested and local (10 miles) plus I have my own permissions so I'm not after yours but would enjoy different company Ask Eric the red! I can supply my own HMR, thermal and night vision and I'm tone deaf so if you start singing so might I and I am awful
