Range finder recommendations

That is crazy I’m very disappointed to hear that from Zeiss! I thought they were supposed to be one of the best companies out there. Maybe there products still are but sounds like poor service for the price you pay!
I was really disappointed especially as the range finder was about £600 new but turns out a few other people have had the same treatment for the other top makes who are renowned for customer service and free fixes and services, just not if it relates to electrical components. Which is a shame as it's the obvious thing that's going to fail.

I use, and like, a Vortex. I started with a Hawke and it did all I wanted it to do ... right up to the night I left it behind on the ledge inside a pallet hide we'd put in on one of our shooting farms. The sheep then knocked it off and it was nowhere to be seen despite some serious searching.
I bought the Vortex and enjoyed the extra range it offered for about 4 months. Then I found the Hawke ! It was absolutely full of water ! I took the battery out and stuck it in the window of my workshop in the full sun for a month or so, shaking water out of it occasionally until it seemed fully dried out. A new battery fitted, it worked perfectly :lol: and is now on 'long loan' to my shooting buddy and continues to give good service.

About as good a recommendation as you will get

I’ve had a Hawke for a long time- easy and reliable. Good for air rifle through to stalking. Thought about upgrading to RF binoculars but the Hawke works and does the job so I’ll stick with it.

I bought a Vortex Viper 3000 last year and it’s just fantastic. Crystal clear glass and instant reads out to about 1600 yards. Longer ranges you put it in Long range mode and I have had it out to 2600 yards. Something to consider is the warranty. Hawke have a 2 year warranty none transferable. Vortex has their full transferable life time warranty.

got a hawk 700 range finder ,small one button press .cant fault it ,but if i was to buy another probably would go vortex just for the vip warranty alone
I have some of the newest Hawke scopes (Frontiers, FFP Sidewinder etc) and they are excellent at their price point with a great lifetime warranty backed up by outstanding UK customer service, but I went Vortex for the rangefinder as they guarantee the electronics against failure. I recently bought a Leica scope on here from McLeod's and it is outstanding value for money compared to some lovely Swaro & Zeiss scopes I've used at twice the price. I was SO close to getting the Leica Geovids with the RF (and a divorce if she checked the credit card balance) after I bought the scope, but the short warranty on the electronics puts me off. Vortex have nailed the RF market for me with that warranty.

I tried out some of the vortex rf bins and they were brilliant. Somthing il be looking at in the future

Some of the cheaper ones, sold by brands for 100-150£, are identical to the unbranded ones sold on ebay for 30£.
Google golf range finder.

If you just want something cheap to play with, they are fine.

If you are also in the market for a new pair of binos get the new Hawke LRF binos. I tried them at the Shooting Show and they are superb for the money.

I currently have a Vortex RF which is very good, accurate and easy to use. I’ve had it for about 5 years and it’s still running on the original batteries. I bought it in the USA for around $300.

If my binos or my RF get lost or damaged then at that point I’m upgrading to the Hawke LRF.

@porteous
Might have a Leica lrf 1200 up for sale soon due to buying rf bins. This is the older model that does BOTH yards and metres by turning a switch inside the battery housing.
Message me a mobile number if interested and I'll send you some whatsapp pics and details?
