I've used a few but the best I've tried is the Leica Rangemaster with ballistic app built in (mine's the 1600B). The instructions provide a comprehensive list of bullet drops for each cal and you can chose one which will get you easily close enough to your specific load give or take an inch. I've reliably tested this to 1400 yds but with a steady hand it will range to a mile. Surprisingly good optics, great contrast and accounts for up hill or downhill shooting compensating for true horizontal position, reads out in yds/m and even provide temp and humidity readings for you long range perfectionists! Makes a great used buy for around £250. Tested bullet drops for my 223 and 308 loads and up to 300 yds its incredibly reliable, fast and accurate. Pops into my chest pocket neatly. Unlike cheaper Hawkes I've tried, the odd patch of mist or rain doesn't flummox it.
