If your using whole wheat then put in empty plastic milk bottle and add old chip/fish oil. Mix up and then use as bait. Makes bait v attractive. In good old days did this and then added Rentokil liquid rat poison when you could get it from agricultural chemist. Very effective. Oil tip from an old very experienced rat control man.

not legal to add anything to rodenticide. just because an old boy used to do it means nothing.
we nearly lost all rodenticide a few years ago. please people read the label and only use as stated

Yes but we are talking decades ago. My comment was re making the bait more attractive so rats would enter trap not poisoning them.

As for baited traps, Ive has success with black cats baited with jelly beans or piece of pepperami.

Black Cats in a secure box baited with red apple on the trigger and porridge oats sprinkled in the bowl and around traps to combat neophobia. Never fails, great traps

I use them every day of the week for the business. Were an expensive investment initially but game changers in the Pest Control industry. Think I have around 100 in stock now. Use them more than Fenns these days.
