RCBS Trim Pro 2 wobble

Bought a brand new RCBS trim master pro 2 thinking I would be able to trim my cases to an exact length accurately, but I am getting wild variations, the case holder wobbles a lot but the screw holding it is rock solid. I think this is a crap considering they aren’t the cheapest option. Has anyone had any experience of this. Is it worth persevering with? What are the better options for quick reliable trimming?image.webp

A friend had the same RCBS trimmer & didn’t like the wobbling so he had it modified via the fitting of bushes etc, it still wasn’t what he hoped for so he ended up with a Wilson trimmer with the adapter to take an electric screwdriver. The Wilson trimmers are still the best for the price.

got two of them trimmed 1000,s of cases very accurate never had a problem if you bought it new i,d take it back bs

Used the RCBS for years, no wobble on mine.
mine has significant wobble, at least 2 cm rocking each way, and its brand new! not interested in bodging it if its like that i will send it back and look for somthing else.

i have one of these too and never had a problem, trims spot on every time. id maybe take the screw out on the top of it and just see if anything is a miss, then re tighten it, iv just had a look ay mine and i cant see how it could wobble, if it still wobbles then send it back for another, they are as a rule a good trimmer 👍

What are people’s thoughts on

Frankford Arsenal Universal Precision Case Trimmer?

Just watched Ultimate Reloader do a review on YT and he seemed impressed but you never know if they are being paid to be…..

Something not quite right with that, i have 2 and neither have any play at all, im sure if it was returned and was sorted you would be happy with the trimmer.

When you clip the case in the RCBS it is possible to place at an angle in the jaws, it still holds it but problems are there. Mayne pushing the plunger too far?

I have done quite a bit of research on this, as I have been accused of being underhanded by a member on here (judging by the rest of his posts he is a fairly angry chap) and the new pro 2 trimmers from RCBS are like that out of the box, and just require a bit of fettling to rectify, I have decided I don’t like the setup as I have to unbolt my press to mount it to my bench each time and I don’t want to faff about with it so I have bought a drill mounted one and am selling this one on.
Always disappoints me when you get people on forums that love to be negative and try and make others out to be crooked, I have been a member on here for 14 years in that time I have bought and sold many items good faith and trust has always been assumed and given from both sides which is one of the reasons I enjoy this forum, I hope these “negative nancys” don’t ruin it for everyone else.

I've got 3 rcbs trimmers, 2 of the older ones and a pro 2. Yes, the heads do occasionally get loose but the bolt underneath holding it in place is easy enough to tighten!

Had a little wobble in mine too, just alot case of nipping the bolts up with some imperial allen keys.

They are good bits of kit and alot better than the old collet screw ones.

Using a drill - found it heated up and got quite a bit of variation so went back to the hand screw.
