Wanted: Rear bag sand

Optics warehouse were doing them cheap just add the kilnsand .
Unsure if they still do them there a good set cheap but effective.

Kiln sand does the job but the OP was after a ‘heavy’ chromite sand which adds extra mass to the bag & due to shape of grains is more stable when compacted.

As noted above, try Brian Fox 07941 958 464

I use the grit on the beach, lays nice in the bag, and you can mould and compact it easily, i also put it in a plastic sandwich bag, before putting it in the rear bag,.

Jewson kiln dried sand... or what I went for.. Ebay plastic beads...
I use the eBay recycled beads they are not round but almost donut shaped.
Pros
Light
pack well

Cons
Light
Don’t knit together and tend to be a little squishy (in my experience ymmv) it’s ok for my 223 but not firm enough for the 6.5Cm

Yes, I have them in a large Tack Driver bag, it was just a bit too much filled with sand, I use it off the top of the Gator foxing with my .223, I know what you mean about it not packing as well as sand, I had thought of using a mix but have never got around to trying it.

Just DON'T use sand from Weymouth beach, it's too fine and will leak through a pin-prick.
