providing my fac gets approved I’m looking for places to go to practise. Fingers crossed the land on our farm gets approved for me.
And if there’s anyone in north wales who can offer some tips and advice for getting started.
And is to get an open license depend on time or how many rounds you get through your rifle ?

Thanks for any advice.

your open ticket depends on a few opaque things.
i need one for work
my friend got one without asking at first renewal
i’ve known two people who got one on first grant. i was told no.

Oh right so it’s circumstance based or on the interviewing officer ?
Should be circumstance based.
If you need it, ask for it, and you should get it.
I am with NWP and I requested my certificate by "opened" after about a year, and it was, no questions asked.
My daughter (also with NWP) had open conditions at first grant (aged 14).

My circumstance could be for paid pest control purposes and or managing other land with other fac holders. Is this a viable reason to ask?
I didn’t put it on my form but can I ask this in the interview ?

If you're "on call" for pest control purposes, then yes, that would be a good reason for having an open certificate, because you need to be able to respond straightaway to a problem, not wait for land clearance.

Bangor and District have two indoor ranges (100 yrds). Open every Wednesday evening to non members.https://bdprpc.org.uk/

Minsterley isn’t a great distance from you & has the advantage that you can book & pay for a session as a non-member as it’s a commercial range.
