Recommend trousers?

So badly need some new trousers and doubt I’ll be buying prohunters again..

There was a recent thread on Facebook and a lot of folk were suggesting shooterking trousers? Are they actually decent or just advertising more in the last year? I quite like deerhunter stuff but never tried their trousers?

Any help is much appreciated! Warm, waterproof and comfy. Would rather be too hot in the summer than cold in the winter.

cheers!

I rated Ram trousers from Deer hunter hugely, then they stopped making them. I tried a few brands, nothing was as good as the Rams. Got told about Greenland trousers made by Shooterking, got a pair. They perform as they claim. Waterproof, comfy. Got the jacket now too, just the same as the trousers. Only issue I have is the jacket is slightly to short, rides up when you bend over and you get a draught. The smock is longer I believe

I tend to buy Deerhunter trousers, normally on "special" as end of line or last years range etc. The deertex membrane works. I like the Montana trousers, recently paid £60 for and you can remove the deertex separate liner for warmer days. See no need to spend big bucks and I am clumsy enough to catch on barbed wire fences!

Can I ask guys are you mostly using these trousers in highseats/towers or are you doing active highland stalking ?
I’m in the market for some new strides but I don’t want ones that are going to make me lose weight in Scotland by sweating it off !
Some of the totally waterproof ones are very very warm in my humble experience.
I’d be very interested in what people are wearing doing highland stalking.

I’m stalking on foot, don’t use highseats at all. Not the steepest of ground but it steep enough to make you puff

The Greenland kit is warm but not overly so. I walk/stalk and use high seats. It is ideal in other than warm weather. Its designed to keep the user warm and dry, which is achieves admirably. Definitely not for summer wear when the sun shines though.
I am currently trying to establish which (if any) Shooterking trousers are suitable for staying dry but cool in summer. Unfortunately the advertising is unclear on that aspect and I haven't yet had a clear answer from retailers, so keeping an open mind and closed wallet on that one at present.

Like ranger I too rated the ram trouser by deer hunter.i had 4 pairs which I used when I contracted for the fc for 6 years and they were great.the nearest thing I’ve found that’s nearly as good is the deer hunter upland trouser.the Cumberland is a not bad spring/summer trouser and is not to warm but the upland is great for sitting out in winter and even at the moment I’m wearing them for these cold spring evenings and mornings sitting out.i buy mine from eBay I think they are around £125
