Recommended hand primer...

Looking for some opinions on hand primers prior to buying. Are these things fairly robust? Any point in buying new as opposed to a good second hand one and what make would you recommend?

Thanks.

Tommy

I've got the new lee Ergo prime I think it's great much better than the old type very comfortable in the hand also......

Thanks for the replies guys. Seems Lee are hard to beat with their pricing and reliability for hand primers. 4 out of 5 replies for the Lee (I realise Spud is selling another make too but Lee was mentioned first so I'm taking it)

Thanks again

Of course if you want a "real" hand primer that's properly made go for an RCBS Universal Hand Priming Tool, bit more expensive but you really do get what you pay for :)

RCBS: An expensive copy of the Lee....

I had my original Lee for about 2 decades. Bought the new model just to have around. Gave the old one to a friend who happily uses it still.~Muir

The Lee if you want time left to shoot or the K&M (with if micrometer seating dial) if 'engineering' a divorce.

As heard last month at the SHOT (Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade) Show 'meet-n-greet' from a (somewhat tipsy) engineer from a reloading equipment company: "Put a micrometer on it and reloaders will pay through the nose for it." Go figure.~Muir

If you can find one...!

Failing that, the old Lee with the round primer tray, new one is not so nice to use.
