Releasing Partridge - just like comedy - it's all about the timing...

Could be.

And for what it's worth, I have absolutely no problem with that.
Not too hot on foxes, no problems with avian predation. For what it's worth I would be grateful if you would forward the money you are probably wasting on partridge, and it would save you all that work. 🕊️🤣

You may well be right.

Let's see how the season pans out.

It's only a tiny wee shoot, and this is the first time I have had Partridges.

Very happy to rumble along with the foxes and BoP.

Difficult to see but what is the BOP ?

The odd kite are just starting to appear now
My house backs onto open fields.

A couple of years back I counted (I think) sixteen Red Kites in the air.

It was a sight to behold. There must have been some “feeding” going on…🤔

Hahhaha
Can i think about it !

We are knees deep in Goshawks TBH too - they do take a good number of our birds but they are a sight to behold
Some bird, but a great threat to conservation. An estate in the Borders was planted on advice from the late Ronnie Rose. There were a few Blackgame in the area. As the trees grew Blackgame increased until one could see twenty or thirty birds on more than one lek. My then artist wife used to sketch and paint them in all the various habitat. Then the Goshawks appeared as if.by magic in the Borders and sadly the Blackgame dwindled. Haven't been to that area recently, but can't think it's improved.
One case of conservation gone ponto, there must be others. Blackgame getting rarer and we are continuingly being told. "Black lives matter".
In this case it falls on deaf ears. 😥

I didn't know they were so close mate. I know there are plenty around in the area but not as close to the village as that! Lots of buzzards, lots of owls and the odd red kite up the lane here.
