Reloading data:

Just had the update disc for QL,
Hodgdon's website data for 147 grain Hornady ELD'm over Winchester Staball 'HD', in 6.5 PRC, gives a max load of 59.5 grains.
I had a quick squint at the data update on QL, & this load is in the danger zone! .............. so recent mentions of different manufacturers data, on powder grain load seem to be born out.

As always, QL and GRT etc are only estimates, and even data direct from the manufacturer (Hornady, Vithavouri etc.) are only based on their test barrel and may differ in your own rifle. Be sensible working towards what anyone considers maximum and don't get too hung up on data which isn't perfectly the same as they all differ to some degree, and often as not the best loads aren't at maximum anyway.

Too long in the tooth (If I had any  ) to take anything other than range ladder tests as gospel:thumb:
Same here (although I have all my teeth!), although its comical looking at some of my old manuals and comparing it to modern data, especially for meekly loaded rounds like my 6.5x55. I'd be losing nearly 300 fps in some cases!

I have found QL to be a handy tool but I always work up a load from scratch starting at the lowest and working up, I have found some of my most accurate rounds to be on the slower end of the scale, I would always take accuracy over speed.
