Remote Fox Calls - Which are good?

Been looking at ICOtec and Foxpro etc. What exactly are people using? What are real world ranges like on these in terms of remote ability. Do obstacles get in the way of effective remote use?

I basically need something with a couple of rabbit distress calls that I can place out around 150yds and operate from a hidden position in various locations.

Pens and pond are full at the moment but with the amount of foxes I have seen lately in daylight, I doubt that will remain the case for long.

ICOtec is a good caller with all that is needed in the way of recorded calls. Remote works out to 100 yards which is all you need. I hang mine on an electric fencing stake to ensure direct radio control.

I have no doubt that some callers may work out to 150 yards but there are problems at that distance, such as actually hearing if the call is working okay at low sound levels. I've always found 100 to be more than enough. Many callers today have a mass oif totally useless calls on them uless you are hunting such things as bears or coyotes in America!

I have the Icotec GC350 so has up to 24 programmable calls so can have a selection of distress calls as well as mating a cub calls. Works well over 150m but not tried it further. It's not much more than the cheapest model which comes with calls on it that you can't change any only 2-3 of them are much use to us in the UK.

we have had the icotecs and sadly we found the sound quality was pants the readout illumination switches off to quick, most of the calls had to be replaced with better quality ones and even then the sound reproduction was not good,

we dropped one from the height of a td5 bonnet and it split into 3 bits, i would not have another,

They are electrical devices and as such are not good in surviving abuse.
Personally i love my Foxpro Spitfire. Easy to read at night.
