Remove Sight Bead from a B525

Hello, as per the title, I want to replace the front bead on my 13 year old B525. Initial efforts are it’s rock solid trying to twist it, don’t want to do my normal heavy handed whack or over do it and damage the barrels, any tips please?

Try a bit of heat, if its screwed in, theres likely some form of locking compound, I'd start with a hair dryer

48hr in a rag soaked in penetrating spray acting like a wick, if you do consider taking it out the stock and mod off.

Tried grips, tried 'gently'whacking it with the hammer, tried in the vice, managed to remove a bit of paint, but it ain't budging!

Ok my way has been for a lad in your position lead soft jaws in a good vice (packed to the barrel profile) I used a chain wrench with the understanding it will mark the mod, got it stinking hot from a proper hot air gun pre set the chain wrench and it came free.
Cleaned the thread with a soft brass brush and ran my long 1/2" unf tap to clean it out.
out of the 2 barrel thread v mod the barrel thread is the most important, now they are off ticket I would cut the mod back in stages to get at the
"nut" then split it with in a couple of mill of the thread and get it off...done it on bearing shafts hydraulic rams
You just need your big boys pants on

I had the same problem with mine when changing bridges for different rifles. Easily solved by popping it in the oven at 150 degrees for a few minutes, after which it will unscrew easily. Make sure you have some decent flexible oven gloves as you'll need to unscrew the parts immediately!
