I started my renewal in March for July renew date then hiccups got it already to send off with the originals took photocopies then got a email paperwork incorrect ???all the paperwork I sent was out of date and only covered variations so had to download 15 pages of the new applications + 2 referees and my vet wanted £105 so cancelled the card with them and went Medcert who were good it was my vet held up the process,due to the Covid situation my paperwork was misplaced so more days waiting then received a letter to say I had so many days to make my application or my certs would be cancelled , I recorded every letter emails phone calls contact names, sent a email with the date time cost Post office where sent from , then got a email your application is being processed,I increased my ammo allocation , 2 more rifles, got a phone call whilst on a farm you have a .223 on cert. I had 2 slots filled both ,we have no record of the purchase of one, told him briefly the new gun and he rang 1 hr later at home furnished them with time I sent the email to inform them of the purchase also the date, rfd's info and address all ok you will receive the new certs in 2-3 weeks that was on a friday ,Tuesday morning nice big plop on the mat new certs hooray so ,on checking the certs got all I wanted and more,so sent a email to them to say big thankyou for everything and their efforts working under the Covid complications.

Renewed my cert in June, spoke to the licensing dept as it wasn’t clear how much a coterminous renewal was. They told me not to send in my old cert. So it might be worth a check prior to rushing out and buying loads of ammo.
Sent mine in early but was told they just process in date order, as long as it is back before it ran out it made no difference as I still had my old cert.
