Rifle Choices...too many!!!

The finnbear came a very close second, more for the fact that the Sauer was good to go for not much more (hopefully no sinister reasons!!) Thanks for your advice and time though!

Good luck with your new rifle Tasr, I would stick with the 6x42 for a while and get to know the rifle and the calibre. The trick now is to get out and use it! JC

The 6x42 is a great sope for 90%+ of UK hunting. When using a 3-12x50 scope I leave it on 7x almost permantly.

If the Swaro looks a little "used" don't be shy about sending it back to them for an overhaul - it costs very little to do this.

To get the best out of a 270 with a Mod, think about learning to handload sooner rather the later.

Post the pics man...

Will post some fots as soon as I have it (FAC is on it's way back to me). I was going to go for 130 to start with a best all round option unless anyone else has some good ideas? Hand loading may come, but one thing at a time at the moment.

130 grainers work well in my .270.

If you're buying factory try the federal v-shock 130grn sierra gamekings BTSP's they were the most accurate factory round in my rifle and they weren't silly money either.

When i was looking for a scope i couldnt find a swaro 6x42 for the money suggested, think more £250 - £300 which levels the playing field somewhat.

Hope that makes you feel a bit better!

tasr. if you not completely commited to a .270 have a look at my add for a .243 remmy on classifieds. id be happy to let it go for 600 minus the scope and mounts. either way welcome to the world of stalking you will love it. doonered.

tasr. ignore my last post im a bit of a technonumpty and read the posts in the wrong order. good luck with the rifle. doonered.
