Was the money taken as a non refundable deposit, or just not returned?Has anyone ever had luck getting there money back off Jager sporting James Clark paid him to do some barrels then he said he’s not capable of making them and won’t return money even tho he’s not actually done anything yet.
You will find that there are widely differing opinions on here.Has anyone ever had luck getting there money back off Jager sporting James Clark paid him to do some barrels then he said he’s not capable of making them and won’t return money even tho he’s not actually done anything yet.
Well saidTwo tikkas re barrelled; one amazingly accurate, the other one I've not shot yet
One Tikka bought from the sealed bid sent to him to be accurised, not shot it either
My heym; after quotes of 900 to a grand and the importer wanting £1200, James got me a pre-fit for E330, for another £200 he screw cut and cerakoted it, from payment to collection was 3 weeks.
He's got some very nice American actions, I asked him about buying one, he told me to use an L579 I already have.
This is not the first time he's talked me out of spending money
I know it must be galling for the other 'smiths, to see their profit margins made public, but that's capitalism.
For my next rifle I'm going to go for one of the Serbian barrels James is now importing, let's see if it's a shooter.
With the money I've saved I'm going to buy a single lot of 1000 bullets and chronicle the rifles accuracy.
He didn’t say he wasn’t capable of making them bud, he merely said that as a matter of safety he needed your action to make sure it was headspaced properly. That seems pretty reasonable to meHas anyone ever had luck getting there money back off Jager sporting James Clark paid him to do some barrels then he said he’s not capable of making them and won’t return money even tho he’s not actually done anything yet.
OP didn't want the headspace on their rifle confirmed, this is like those people who claim they know best and want the flue off their old boiler reused. If a smith sells a barrel it must be fit for purpose (sales of goods act and all that), James is asking to verify the usability of an item he will bear responsibility for, in what universe is that a bad thing?Having had dealings with James and been very satisfied with both is work and prices and read his reply to you, I reckon you ought to change the heading of this post or take it down completely.
