Riton X7 Elevation - Zero Stop Issue

Hi all,

I’ve recently ended up with a Riton X7 as it has an advertised 46MRAD of elevation.

However, having mounted it today I’ve realised it only ever has 19.5MRAD because of the zero stop (which apparently can’t be disabled).

Has anyone encountered this and managed to solve it? I’ll go to Optics Warehouse on Monday as apparently you can get a different turret for it from Riton - see this thread

Riton X7 question

I’m a little miffed as I bought this to go on a .22LR and need the full elevation range to get out to the distances I want to!

Cheers,

Dr. S

Can‘t you simply remove the turret, loosen some screw and keep on dailing?
Otherwise it wouldn‘t be a zero stop but the absolute end of the range.
What does the manual say?

Unfortunately not. I had a play with it earlier and the full adjustment range is available to me if I manually adjust the elevation spindle with the turret off. With the turret on, it’s limited.

The thread on Snipers Hide covers the issue.

The manual (had to go to the website, not included in the box!) had no mention of it!

Most strange. I‘d make use of the suggestion on Sniper‘s Hide to get out the Dremel.

I did see that if you wanted to use the zero stop, it restricts the amount of travel, think they may mention about this the you tube video of the scope.. apart from the issue with the zero stop, west is the scope like? I’ve seen mixed reviews.

I was able to buy a turret without the zero-stop post (from Riton.)

Cost USD 50 including postage. Bit of a rip off, really.

Thanks! That is excessive though, I agree. Especially when it’s not mentioned in the scope specs…

Seems good so far - will have a play at the range tomorrow.

I’ve got one, the glass is very decent for the price, our club has 3 of the little brother and we’re clear at 900 meters on Wednesday. Sadly not enough adjustment for that range on the club 308

A total work around how about a mount/rings with MOA built in? I think Eagle Vision do adjustable rings so you can add/subtract your own inclined as desired. Appreciate it's more expenditure but would get you way out there.

Adjustable Mounts

DR S, you’ve had sone nice gear what are your initial thoughts on the Riton? Is it the 3-18x50, you’ve gone for

Guilty!

I liked it - was out on the range today with it on a .22LR. The downside for me today was the centre dot - it’s 0.2MRAD and at 18x was obscuring the entirety of the 1MRAD gridded target I was aiming at.

I’m going to return it - as it’s solely for rimfire I’m going to go with something that’s got a smaller centre dot.

Plus the fact that you’ve only got 19.5MRAD of elevation available without either a different turret or taking a Dremel to it means it’s no good for me. For centrefire use I think it would be fine.

The glass seems good but I didn’t really compare it side to side with anything!

Hope that helps 👍🏻
