Roe chased a red hind off.

Looked down into this field we had seen a very pregnant roe doe a prior night and a red hind instantly caught my eyes without the need for binoculars, sat and watched it for a few minutes then out of no where the doe appeared and she proceeded too bully the crap out of the hind, charging and barking at her getting within meters the red hind was totally ignoring her! she then would do a big lap around it then end up next too the hind and repeat the same behaviour.

Defending kids? her belly was notably a lot less swollen! but I sort of expected too see the kids be squeaked out, but no sign of them she however was incredibly agitated.

The red hind eventually shifted, and she dropped down.

I've seen a herd of hinds on open hill, running in one direction, but we knew there was a doe and twins (well grown) where they were headed. They stopped abruptly and changed direction soon as seeing the doe stand her ground.

It was cool too see! she wanted that red gone, and was incredibly determined and the red wasn't mithered one bit!

The amount of young roe I'm seeing at the moment right now Is mental, finally had a relatively okay chance at a older buck tonight but he managed too give us the slip! I think tonight marks 8+ individual roe small length of road not even counting the moorland behind what we haven't bothered too drive down too check.

I watched a ewe last year with twin lambs of a few months chase off a yearling stag and hind, she just didn’t want them around.

Defending territory around fawns, Doesncan get scrappy! Yes, now when last years kids are ousted by Mom, they’re frantically running around lost and with no home so to speak. One might see it as an opportunity, or let them settle. Many are lost in road collisions due to this

Sol, a roe doe chased my dog around one year. They both ran past me. Back and forth. The doe kept coming back though guarding a patch and drawing Jess away at the same time until I stopped the dog and retreated. The doe was intent on butting Jess.

Weirdly I witnessed the other end of the spectrum last night, watched a roe buck that appeared too be watching us from far out presumably the nice one I seen a few nights prior then out of no where It looks back and four red deer come charging over the hill chasing it off.

They werent happy! fully sprinting after it, whilst debating on shooting a yearling the evening before I heard another roe barking from that direction I presume the buck isn't happy there in his territory and the reds arent having it.

Wee guy got too live another day I've shot two yearlings two mature bucks and all four are effectively spikers, wee ones need too grow.
