Rough terrain tyres

Looking for really time experience on the following types of tyre and your thoughts:

A. Patriot Rugged Terrain R/T+

B. Radar Renegade Rat+

1. What MPG drop did you experience over road tyres or from all terrain?

2. What is the road noise like?

3. How do they handle in wet road conditions?

4. What’s the wear rate like?

Thanks

A couple of my mates now have the renegades and swear by them saying they are quiet, I can't comment on MPG, They will be my next tyres for my pick up when I replace the current tyres.

I've the Renegades on a Shogun. MPG went from 29 to 24. Road noise was acceptable and this reduced a bit inflating a few extra PSI above recommended values. I'm very impressed with the wet weather handling and haven't had to change my driving style. Can't comment on wear as only do about 3k annually.

What pressures are you running?

new tyres fitted. Looks so much better and on first impressions seem good, will be doing my usual long run so will be able to see what the road noise and MPG is like.

One thing I have taken away from this is that the garages are a rip off! Ended up swapping the tyres myself and just paid for balancing because it was going to cost me around 150 quid for the pleasure of a garage to do it.

I see you haven’t gone for the 'scull and pistons' design facing outwards. I think the 'daggers' side will give y9u a more aggressive grip on the sidewall for offroad use.

I didn’t think it would make any difference?
If memory serves me I got that info from a Youtube review on the tyres. A few sellers also refer to the daggers giving better mud penetration and improved sidewall protection. There will be absolutely no difference on the road regards handing, mpg or road noise as long as the four outward face sidewall designs all match each other. In that case you've effectively just swapped over the two tyres on the same axle if you change from one design to the other. It would only be when the sidewall comes in contact with berms etc offroad that you'd notice any difference.

Let us know how the Mpg was effected when you know. I enjoy the 43mpg I get with road tyres at the moment but need some all terrain tyres for these wet tracks and fields

Hi Cc91. As per #4 above my fuel economy fell from about 29mpg with road tyres to 24mpg with the renegades, so about 15% reduction. That's on poor rural road surfaces with typically 60 miles round trips. If you have a similar reduction, worse case, you could be looking at around 35 mpg if you've just replaced a set of summer road tyres.

Got comforcer cf3000 on works truck, there quiet on road, and I’m mighty impressed off road.
and out of a 12 plate navara on a long run I done 527mile and I used 71L (15.6gal) that works out 33.7mpg sat at 70mph most of the way.
