Rudemeister Tracking Harness

Robust but light, nylon webbing tracking harness with 3M Scotchlite reflective stripes so your dog is easily seen. Easy to put on and kept in place with a clip. Also much more comfortable for your dog as no pressure is placed on the neck so breathing is unaffected.

Should the dog get entangled the single clip on the stomach allows the harness to be taken off quickly and easily. However, the lead system has been very well thought out and does on catch on branches or undergrowth.

• Design allows for the harness to be easily folded away for storage in pocket, game bag etc.
• Good range of sizes ensures a perfect fit. The stomach belt can also be cut and sealed using a lighter.

Typical Sizes:

• Size 1 for dachshunds.
• Sizes 2 & 3 for smaller terriers.
• Size 4 for larger terriers and spaniels.
• Size 5 for pointers.
• Size 6 for large gun dogs.

It would be good to have chest circumference. It seems strange that a 'dachshund' size is smaller than a small terrier? Depending on the chest circ of your dachshund, I would guess the size 2 might be okay? I am relying as I am genuinely interested too

Hi Keith

Good question the size 2 small has a adjustable chest diameter of up to 77cm and has a head opening of 65cm. Agree on the point of the Dachshund size being smaller than a small terrier, there is quite a lot of adjustment on the harness's so there will be some "overlap" of breed/sizing.

Hi Rob. I'll take a size 2 and try it out on our teckels - they range from 7kg to 10.5 kg so it will give an indication of sizing. Please PM me with the payment details. Once item received I can feedback with photos as to how it fits our dogs.

Sorry, a busy week with pups going to new homes....The size 2 looks too big even for our male. I will try again with the adjustment but I think that will have to go back and a size 1 tried when back in stock

I think the 'basic' and 'spartan' design is the point, for what material is there, it is well constructed. It is nothing like a Niggeloh Follow, but it isn't meant to be - I think the lack of material is the point. It is more like a Niggeloh Follow Start. I think it is a case of perceived 'less is more'.

Received in under 24 hours, No 5 is right for my Vizsla, very happy with it. Only suggestion is a keeper for the spare strap, but I had on in the garage!
