Can anyone who has first hand experience of Rudolph scopes advise of their clarity and low light ability benchmarked against their other brand scopes?

I'm specifically interested in the 1-8x24 Ar1 ffp illuminated.

I used to own a Rudolph 6-24x50 tactical scope. The glass was nice and sharp and the tracking was always reliable. I got mine through Opticswearhouse. I have not looked through the 1-8 but I am sure it will be good. I currently run a Vortex viper PST gen2 1-6 on my AR and its fantastic, amazing glass. Let me know if you want more info about that scope. I went from a Stike Eagle 1-6 and the PST is a massive jump in quality.

Thanks for the feedback. A had a viper gen 1 1-4x24 but 4x was not really enough as Roe looked like mice at 150yds. Glass was good. I'd be expecting better glass in the Rudolph compared with the gen 1 vortex.

Buying new is tough as you're at the thick end of £2k for excellent glass even in the low mag small objective lense offerings. So either 2nd hand swaro, S&B, Leica etc or new Rudolph

It is a really tough one. If you want really good glass, you could go to a Delta 2.5-15, amazing fov and good red dot.

It was his reviews that convinced me to go with the PST and very glad I did. If you can stretch and want more mag, the Delta stryker low mag scope is meant to be awesome.

I have a Rudolph varmint Hunter 6-24x50. The glass is the same as my sightron S3 and nightforce shv. They’re all made in Japan (in the same factory, I believe.) and are very good. I bought my first one from optics warehouse and it had an issue with it. The up down adjustment wasn’t working. There was a bit of plastic wedged in it or something. They replaced it without question. I sold the replacement on here to upgrade but it was a great, simple scope, so I bought another second hand off eBay. I’m really happy with it. Better than a Swarovski DS at dusk. I just wish it was a 56mm objective.
