ruger 1022

well its started after watching a few very good informative videos on you tube I,ve reduced my trigger pull from a measured 7-8lb down to 3-4lb all fine no misfires and the safety still works spot on :-D. [measured with gauge]
so then went on to polish the bolt and receiver as In another video tightened the magazines in the receiver with another mod as per video the next and last thing on my list of little improvements is to float the barrel .
and I have really enjoyed spending a couple hours tinkering .
[may I point out that I am really quite mechanically minded having been a motor mechanic / mot tester since leaving school 30+ years ago ] so doing these mods does not phase me in the slightest

I found this video very useful when I first got mine, especially the parts on trigger and magazine disassembly and re-assemby.

A well done video. Nice to see a quality production instead of a teenager filming with a shaky I-Phone!~Muir

A good modification would be to buy a bolt action, most do what it says on the tin once you find the right round without spending loads pimping it up.

all the stuff I,ve done to my 10/22 has not cost me a penny .
I have lightened the trigger from 7-8lb down to 3-4lb polished the bolt and receiver and floated the barrel .
as I had a spare stock in the horrible factory brown colour.
once I floated the barrel I decided to sand the whole thing back to bare wood re stain and I am in the process of applying 10-12 coats of tru oil

well I have eventually finished the stock .
sanded the original back to bare wood applied 2 coats of dark oak stain and then 12 coats of tru oil sanding with 1200 wet and dry between coats .
the picture of the factory finish is taken from the net as I forgot to take one of mine before I started but the next two are my actual stock

finished item ........................well it was until Friday night when I bought a Yukon photon 5x42 NV scope to go onto it

Which one do you recommend and how much are they?

I use Green Mountain. Always have and I can't recommend them highly enough; available in the UK, too. No idea what they cost over there. About $149 here.~Muir
