Ruger m77 moderator - help from smarter minds

Morning all,

I’m looking for help from if not smarter but better informed minds :)

I’m looking at buying a Ruger m77 American ranch new in 223 and want to buy a wildcat mod to go with it. What I’m struggling with is working out the difference between m14 and m18 indicated mods?

I’m looking at sportsman gun centre due to its ease of location? Can anybody help me work this out. I’d like to think I’m not this dense but a quick google is not helping me much.

Thanks

Hi

Firstly the Ruger American isn't a 77. It will probably have a 1/2"-28 (UNEF) thread. M14x1 & M18x1 threaded moderators won't fit.
@MeatEaterMe
The people selling the Rifle will/should know what thread is on the barrel so then you work back from that size they give you.
M18 is close to 3/4" so unless it is a target barrel the OD then you would be scratching to get a M18 thread.
Simple guide is 1/2" unf or unef is about the smallest thread size to go on a centre fire
The rest are bigger :tiphat:

Yep, one more for 1/2 x 28 unef on a 16 1/2" barrel.
Will be great with a Wildcat on it, let me know if you fancy a custom mod :)

As you are in Wales pop up to Onelesscharlie and get him to sort you out or else go direct to Wildcat if you want one of their mods.
