Ruger M77 VT MkII mounts question

Same here. I bought one for my 223, I didn’t like how the two screws to lift it up and you were left with a gap between the receiver and the bottom of the rail.

Exactly reason I sold my rail & just use Ruger rings. The design means the rail lifts everything way too high.

Yeah I didn’t like the wee gap. I’ve just acquired a 243 with Warne mounts on it. Some people say they are good and other folk don’t like them. Probably be ok as long as keep an eye on the screws. I got it last week, wouldn’t group at all, went home, tightened everything with screw driver, the scope mount screws on top were pretty slack, took rifle out after and bullets we’re touching. I’m toying with getting a set warne quick realise mounts for the alpex to go on and off.
