i think that the new zenith is a more compact unit( shorter )and has a wider field of view I have the zenith 2.5 X 10 X 56 IR and the I.25 X 4IR both flashdot thats my first try.SF said:What is the difference between a normal say 3-12x50 IR S&B compared to a 3-12x50 IR Zenith S&B?

Totally different,
flashdot projects dot on to reticule. When switched off it you see no dot on the reticule. Flashdot is very bright and can be used as a red dot in day use for running game.
Reticule of say FD7 is very fine and can be used for target or vermin, at dusk put a bit of dot on. Most versitile reticule.
I love my 3-12x50 FD7 zenith, just would like the bdc turrets.
