I am having problems with my Sako 75 trigger . When I fire a round the safety catch jams forward ,in normal operation the safetyiill catch moves freely. The only way to free off the safety after a shot is to slam the bolt back when I open it . Any ideas ?

Perhaps something as simple as a build-up of gunge ? Drop the trigger assembly and give it a thorough clean in something like Plus-Gas.

I had a similar but not identical jamming problem with a Sako 75 trigger, that became almost immediately dangerous. I installed a new trigger assembly, which was quite expensive, so hopefully yours is just a bit of gunge.

Is there any tension on the safety catch, the spring may be dislodged or broken, unlikely to be broken. .

Yes mty it needs to be looked at . I would also look at the hex bolt that holds it in place as well , as I had the same fault way back with it being lose after a gun plumber :-| did't lock it in . Also good clean and try to replicate the fault out of the stock so eyes on .

I took the rifle to Norman Clark in Rugby and he diagnosed crud in the trigger mechanism . Hoping the bill won't be too expensive . Thanks for your replies .

Always had good service there. It will not cost much if it is a basic strip out and clean. I doubt you will get a nasty surprise.
