Sako 90 recoil lug 30.06

I lost all confidence in it, its a pity, i like everything about it apart from the accuracy issues, so basically it was bloody useless for what it was bought to do.
I was up Scotland a couple of weeks ago, i shot 1 Roe Buck 1st day sub 100mtr, a decent high heart shot that dropped on the spot. A day later i spotted another around 140mtr, unfortunately for me i'd got it in my head that it was too far for the rifles ability, i cant go out with that amount of doubt in the rifle. Checking zero back home its still inconsistent, 2 inch at 100.

I had the same issue with my Sako 90 Adventure in 30-06 (synthetic stock) while checking zero with Paul Hill of Corinium. Paul torqued the stock screws and problem solved, commenting that Sako have sadly had this issue since the 85 and the fact it's still present, he couldn't recommend. I've had a dozen or so outings with the rifle since with no further issue, but am watching very carefully and it's only a long standing affinity for Sako rifles that has me persist. Paul said exactly the same as you, that once experienced, he could never have confidence in the rifle again.

I have a 75 that once you unscrew the action bolts its job and a half to get the stock off its that tight, I also have a S491 thats the same but the 90 just falls apart. Crap design.
