Sako 90

No stutzen!

It certainly looks a promising rifle and some will be happier than others with the following compromise on certain models:

The Hunter action sticks with grooves but hopefully not tapered:

No .223, nor 6.5x55, nor .270, nor .30-06
Not yet, I’m sure they will be added. The literature confirms 5 action sizes, they would not be making an extra short unless they plan to chamber .223 & .222 nor would they make a medium action unless they are to chamber 6.5x55 & .270

I see they have ditched the tapered dovetail for a picatinny type and what looks like a straight dovetail type which is a good thing.
Interested now to see if they have improved the recoil lug and bedding area which was another weak point on the 85

Yeah they probably start with what they think will be the most popular cartridges and gradually add the others

Looks like they have been listening to sd popular census of opinion. I have said for years about all rifle manufacturers should have a universal scope attachment system and the nearest thing to this has been the picatinny rail. Everything looks good but I couldn't see details of magazine

From the pictures above it looks like a typical sako steel magazine.

They look like nice rifles.

Still screwed it up, same design as the S20.

Market wants a the option of a full length rail with varying inclines (0 or 20 MOA usually), not the bodge job they are offering.

Only a very small minority of the target market for this rifle are long-range shooters.
I say they have done it right with the S90.👍
