Sako AV Timney Trigger

Has anyone fitted a timney trigger to a Sako AV / L61? It’s supposed to drop right in, but it won’t fit the stock. The hole for the tigger will need to be extended forward to clear the adjustment screws and the flat bit of metal which forms part of the safety catch.

Anyone had similar experience? Am
I doing something wrong? I’m happy to have a go at extending the trigger hole as it doesn’t touch any part of the action so shouldn’t affect the rifle, but I don’t want to then find that metalwork modification is also required.

It’s this trigger-

The unit should drop in

The small cross pin slide easily into the lug on the action and allow the tensioning bolt that pushes away from the action base

Send me a pic of what you have David against the action

Side by side - under view

Put it against the original trigger too

If the holes are different then it won’t fit

Thanks so much, didn’t want to bother you over WhatsApp again! I’ll send you a video

I fitted one on a L579 years ago and had to file out a bit from the stock to clear the safety and I think a bit from the end of the trigger blade to, still on the rifle and works very nicely

I wouldn’t guarantee that the trigger guard doesn’t need relieving. I think my AII did

Turns out I needed to open up the trigger hole by about 5mm, and it now fits. Luckily no further issue with the trigger guard. Not quite the drop in that Timney claim, but not the end of the world.

Huge thanks to Ronin for all his help and advice, top bloke.
